The Capelet is a loose, flattering shape. The pattern includes two sizes which I have labeled Small/Medium and Medium/Large. I had lots of people try they on at the store. The SM fits people between sizes 4 and 10. The ML size fits women up to around size 18.

The pattern is the same for both sizes, only the size of needle and yarn changes. So if you are trying to make it larger or smaller you could easily adjust yarn or needle.

The SM uses sock and sport weight yarns. The ML uses sport or dk and worsted weight yarns.

The pattern includes very easy color work. Only three yarns are used but because one is variegated it looks like you worked a lot harder. The color work includes two color ribbing and slipped stitches.

I named the Capelet for Lorilee Beltman who taught a Continental Knitting class at Stitches, etc. last year. I used to hate purling!! My technique was slow and cumbersome. After taking Lorilee’s class I purl just as fast as I knit. Thanks Lorilee for being my inspiration. You should take a few minutes to check out her designs on Ravelry. And she will soon have instructional DVDs for Continental Knitting.
