Lorix
Lorix was designed for two little boys in Germany who are very dear to me. I hope it will be just the thing for Autumn and Spring and those cooler Summer days. Choose a feminine palette and it’s terrific for little girls too.
It can be knit with or without a pocket.
Without the pocket, it is suitable for an advanced beginner ready to learn a few new skills. It’s a simple bottom-up construction that’s firstly knitted in the round and then split at the armholes, with the front and back knit back and forth. The short-row shaping and three-needle bind-off at the shoulders are fully explained with links on wrapping and turning. Lastly, stitches are picked up for the armholes, placard and collar.
With the pocket, it’s an intermediate knit. It’s knitted from a provisional cast-on (the pattern explains and links to the fast and easy crochet method), with a clever pocket incorporated into the front (no sewing required) - and don’t those little hands love tucking themselves into it!
