The Loro Cowl is a lightweight cowl design inspired by a tune performed by Esperanza Spalding and Fred Hersch from the incredible album “Alive at the Village Vanguard.” The recording is transformative, spunky, and playful. The motifs of this design harken to the essence of jazz music: one step always moving forward as the art is adapted and innovated; and one step in the past as the traditions of jazz still hold strong and true. As a performer, innovator, advocate, healer and creator, Esperanza Spalding has championed community togetherness, bodily awareness, and the importance of creative thought in all her works. She is a prolific composer, improviser, and musician that has inspired me time and time again. Thank you, Esperanza Spalding, for filling my life with great joy. This design strives to complement the genius that is jazz. The design itself features two different sizes, short and tall, designed to fit you exactly how you’d like it. Jazz is about adapting to the people you’re playing alongside, so this pattern is meant to adapt to your desired length.
