Lost but not Forgotten
I had forgotten the enjoyment I have when working garter stitch. “Lost but not Forgotten” is a design for a knitted shawl to help us remember that sometimes the simple things are the best things of all. This is a pattern to keep your hands busy while your mind works through the challenges in your life - the good, the bad and the ugly. Lets face it life is not easy but your knitting can be. There are no rules with this pattern only guidelines.
Look at your stash - find those skeins that you LOVE. They don’t have to be the same fiber or the same gauge or the same color. Pick 5 different yarns or ten or pick 16 like I did. The heaviest yarn I used was worsted weight. When using a fingering weight yarn hold it doubled. You will need roughly 1200 yards total.
I size US 10 needles - straight or circular is used throughout the shawl. The crochet boarder is optional and is a single round of half double crochet stitches with a Size J hook. The finished size prior to blocking is 23” x 69”.
Sit still, be present and mindful and enjoy the art of creating something unique.
