Lottie socks are knit in the round, cuff down, using stranded colour work to create a gingham pattern. The yarn is held double, and because of this, they are a quite thick, like a cabin sock or a house sock, rather than your regular sock knitted with DK weight yarn.

Skill Level: intermediate/advanced beginner

Yarn: fingering weight sock yarn held double

Yardage: 100 g MC and 50 g CC

Needles: US4 (3.5 mm) DPNS or whatever size to meet gauge

Approx. Gauge: 30 sts and 32 rows for 10 cm x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in)

Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) are based on the measurement around the ball of the foot and for this pattern are 16 (18.5, 21.5, 24) cm with 1 cm of negative ease

Foot length will depend on your individual needs, or the needs of those you are knitting for
