Cast on 90 stitches (width of scarf): the gauge depends on the finished size you want (scarf vs cowl). Please use your chosen yarn and needles to make a swatch. Yay Math!

I made a short scarf (neck warmer) for her, so the picture is a 2 pattern repeat: 90 stitches by 270 rows long.
