This cardigan, designed to be a basic, is knitted top down (starting with the neckline, down to the bottom). The border in I-cord is constructed at the same time as the body, so there is no stitches to be picked, nor border to make at the end.

GAUGE 10 cm x 10 cm: 18 stitches x 32 rows.
The sample is knitted in garter stitch, measured washed and dried.
Careful, the gauge is essential when you knit clothes, so you do not spend hours knitting a piece that will not fit you. Knit a piece that will not fit you. If it is different, the size of the cardigan and the yardage used will be affected. Given the weight of the knitted fabric when finished (and sizes between 500 g and 1 kg), the sample can be very different (and much more, in number of rows) after washing and blocking.

WOOL : This cardigan was knitted with two strands of wool together: A strand of fingering and a strand of hairy wool in mohair and silk. But a single wool of type DK or worsted whose is correct, will be perfect (Careful, the yardage will be different).
CC1: Petit bout de Laine, sweet fingering, colorway prune, 100 g/440 yards; 400 meters
CC2: Alpaga Silk brushed, colorway 10, 25g / 155 yards; 140 meters
CC3: Angora by phildar, 25 g /110 yards; 100 meters

Ce gilet a été tricoté avec deux brins de laine ensemble : un brin de fingering et un brin de laine poilue en mohair et soie. Mais une laine simple de type DK ou worsted dont l’échantillon est juste convient parfaitement ( attention toutefois au métrage qui sera différent).

il est tricoté en top down (en commençant par l’encolure, jusqu’au bas du corps). la bordure en Icord est construite en même temps que le corps, donc il n’y a aucune maille à relever, ni de bordure à faire à la fin.
