Love Bug Mittens
There’s nothing warmer on a cold day than a pair of worsted colorwork mittens. The double layer of yarn traps air and keeps fingers warm even on super-cold mornings. My little love bug is 3 this year and is outside playing every day. He needed something to keep those tiny fingers warm! For this design, I combined traditional Scandinavian colorwork motifs with hearts for my love bug.
Sizing: Child Small (Child Medium). The Small fits a 2-3 year old, the Medium fits a 5-7 year old.
Materials:
- Yarn: 2 skeins of worsted yarn, contrasting colors. The Small sample uses Kelbourne Germantown (220 yards/100g skein) in the colors Crimson and Pebble. The Medium sample uses Germantown in the colors Rhododendron and Natural.
- Needles: US 5/ 3.75mm DPN’s or a long circular needle for Magic Loop
- Notions: stitch marker, darning needle
- Scrap yarn for thumb stitch holder
