Love Ewe Baby celebrates the beauty and vibrancy of hand-dyed yarn and a one-of-a-kind LYS: Do Ewe Knit?

Karen, the owner, is known as the yarn pimp extraordinaire and her love and enthusiasm for all things yarn and color inspired me to this shawl design for the Do Ewe Knit Summer KAL 2017. It combines different textures like two-color brioche, garter stripes and seed stitch into a fun shawl!

The main part of the shawl is knit sideways on the bias in brioche stitch, short-rows in stripey garter stitch and seed stitch in the pop color lead to the brioche border. The entire shawl is surrounded by an i-cord in two-colors, for a clean and finished look and an extra color pop. You can never have too many of those!

This pattern was originally designed for the Do Ewe Knit Summer KAL 2017.

Yarn: 3 colors of fingering weight yarn

Recommended: Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles, 100% Merino, single ply, 366 m / 400 yd per 100 g

Yardage: 930 m / 1017 yards in total

• Color A: 284 m / 311 yards
• Color B: 365 m / 399 yards
• Color C: 281 m / 307 yards

Gauge: 20 sts / 48 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch (relaxed after blocking) – gauge ist not critical but it will influence the size of your finished shawl and your yardage!

Size: 234 cm / 92“ wingspan, 76 cm / 29“ height at center

Needles: US 6/4.0 mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge or optimal drape), larger needle size for bind off

Notions: tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers, 1 removable stitch marker, waste yarn

Karen, die Besitzerin, ist als yarn pimp extraordinaire bekannt und ihr Enthusiasmus und ihre Liebe zu handgefärbter Wolle und Farben haben mich zu diesem Design für den Do Ewe Knit Summer KAL 2017 inspiriert. Das Strickmuster kombiniert verschiedene Texturen wie zweifarbiges Patent, Kraus-Rechts-Streifen und Perlmuster zu einem sommerlichen Tuch!

Der Hauptteil wird seitwärts auf der Diagonalen in zweifarbigem Patent gestrickt, verkürzte Reihen in Kraus-Rechts-Streifen und Perlmuster in der Kontrastfarbe folgen, bevor das Tuch mit einem zweifarbigen Patent-Rand und i-cord abgeschlossen wird.

Das Strickmuster wurde ursprünglich für den Summer Knit-A-Long 2017 von Do Ewe Knit? entworfen.
