My Love Heart Beanie features simple repeating bands of hearts, each band worked in a different colour.
Make it for yourself or your best friend - and I couldn’t resist making a matching baby size!

Sizes
Adult size to fit approx. 22” / 56cm round - 8.5” / 22cm long
Baby size to fit approx. 17” / 43cm round - 6.5” / 15cm long

Materials
Rather than buy more yarn, I have used lots (and lots!) of colours from my stash - the hearts in each band have a light, medium and dark shade to add dimension. Even the green zigzags feature two shades!
But you can use as many, or as few, as you want - or have in your stash. The baby hat is a ‘stripped back’ version and uses just 6 colours.
There are two colour keys to the chart, one with my actual colours for the hats as shown in the photos, and one with ‘basic’ colours.

There are separate charts for each size, plus a black and white chart which might be easier to follow if you are using your own colour scheme.

Adult size
Approx 15g for the background
Approx 2g of every colour for multicoloured hearts, or 5g of one colour for each repeat
Green - 4g each in 2 shades
Plus 2g extra of your cast on colour

Baby
Approx 16g for background
3g per heart colour
5g of green (1 shade)

(I always use circular needles for hats and for the baby size I worked with two at once due to the reduced stitch count, rather than use DPNs.)
