I refuse to accept that the world should be a cruel place to be. There are lots of horrible acts that we face on a daily basis, despite them I strongly believe that love conquers all! Love is everywhere! Embrace it and share it:))**

I had loved my first tunic, Bahar, to pieces. When I decided to make a second one I wanted to make a few changes. The old pattern is still available and great to make, but this time I wanted to:

• make the tunic to a tighter gauge in order to make several sizes.
• start with the body worked side-ways so that I could work the sleeves in-the-round and top-down -give the possibility of a seamless construction -give the choice of two lengths, one shorter that would suit as a tunic/sweater, one longer that would suit as a tunic/dress

The design is extremely flattering with its upper part worked in garter, a soft, rounded neckline (you could easily make it deeper - or add a cowl), an A-line that starts at bust-height gives lots of room and comfort. The tunic swings around your body when moving - it is such a pretty sight:))

Construction: The tunic/dress is worked in the following way:
- You start with the body worked sideways from the right to the left side. Front and back are worked at the same time. At neck work is separated and front and back are worked in separate pieces to the end of the neck where work is joined and worked in one piece to the left side.
The width of the lower body is created by working short-rows in a fun and easy way.

• Sleeves are worked top-down and in the round to your prefered length..
• Neckline is worked in the round from picked-up-sts. You could start the body from a traditional or a provisional cast on. If started from a provisional cast on the tunic is entirely seamless.

Sizes
2 different lengths are offered for all the sizes.
Finished bust measurements are 34/38/42/45.5/49/53.5”. Each size should cover at least 2.5cm/1” up or down compared with your personal bust measurement.
Sample is made in size 2 and to the maximum length. Keep in mind that each of the sizes covers at least one size up or down, as the garter st of the upper body can be stretched.

Gauge 10x10cm/4x4” in st st = 21 sts and 28 rows. 10x10cm/4x4” in garter = 21 sts and 42 rows

Material* I used the lovely Kidsilk Haze from Rowan to work the tunic. This yarn comes in a fabulous range of colors and has a great drape and shine. You will need 7/8/8/9/10/11 balls of this yarn to make the tunic in the longer version.
Needle size Choose needles to obtain gauge! I used needles 3.5mm/US4 to make my sample. You will need a long, circular needle to work the body, a set of dpns (or a circular needle if working the magic loop) for the sleeves as well as the neckline.

The pattern
The pattern is clear and easy to follow. I give thourough explanations for working the tunic starting from a provisional or traditional cast-on.
There is a simple schematic showing the construction as well as the knitting directions. All stitch-counts and measurements are given.

Knitting skills
Abbreviations used are: wt (wrap and turn) puw (pick up wrap), k, p, k2tog, ssk, m1l. The tunic is worked entirely in st st and garter.
I honestly think that an adventorous beginner could make this tunic succesfully! It is fun and great to make, and you will be richly awarded by a lovely tunic that make you feel embracing the world:))
