Thus CAL participants can only be on the hook for between $1.75 and $5.25. At the end of the CAL, the full pattern will be sent to all those participants that purchased ALL THREE of the segments, and the segments will be removed from the shop, ending the special CAL pricing of the segments. If your time permits, come on over and join us! I look forward with excitement to engaging with you in this first throw-sized Intermingled Mesh CAL and truly hope to have a fantastic level of participation from community of creative crochet artists!

In this time of turmoil, fear, and uncertainty, I think we have all had to think about what our bare necessities are in life. Thus, the June CAL, “L.O.V.E Knots: A Celtic Expression of L.O.V.E.” is a timely theme, because in my mind love is what has and will continue to bring us through not only this insanely challenging pandemic, but through all of the trials and tribulations that we face as humans!

“L.O.V.E Knots: A Celtic Expression of L.O.V.E.” is throw sized project - exact size and yarn totals will be determined by your personal choice of fiber and hook.

Based upon a #4 worsted weight fiber at 220y/201m per 3.5oz/100g, using a 5mm/US H-8 hook and allowing ample room for differing gauge and adding a simple border if desired:

600g/21oz in EACH of two colors

DK requires a minimum of 500g in each of two colors

Aran requires a minimum of 700g in each of two colors

Super Chunky (yep, someone is doing it - in beautifully kettle-dyed merino!) 2100g EACH COLOR - it makes a king-sized blanket, approximately 63 X 77 inches

Finished size will, of course, depend upon the weight of yarn used and the hookers’ specific gauges. The pattern recommendation will be for a worsted weight. This allows the project to not require as many stitches to gain an adequately sized throw. Estimated finished throw in the range of 48”/1.22m X 64”/1.63m

As mentioned above, these estimates are solely that, estimates that are highly dependent upon personal choices in fiber, hook size, and crochet style. See group post on Lifters, Yankers, and Riders :-)
