This pattern is written in English and uses standard American crochet terminology. This pattern uses the abbreviation 2sc (2hdc, 2dc, etc.) to indicate an increase. I do not use the abbreviation “inc” in any of my patterns. All abbreviations are fully explained in detail at the beginning of each pattern.

The love letter purse crochet pattern is “One size fits most.” It’s best suited for older children to adults. The size can be adjusted easily by making the strap shorter or longer. (For more information on sizing, scroll down.)

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

To make the love letter crochet purse, you’ll need the following materials:
Chenille plush yarn such as Premier Parfait Chunky, Big Twist Posh, or Bernat Velvet (amounts and colors listed in the pattern)
Crochet hook sized 5.00mm
Tapestry needle
Aleene’s Tacky Glue (or your preferred glue)
One sheet of soft craft felt in one of the accent colors of the purse. If following the tutorial, this is white. Instead of felt, you can also use beads, sequins, glitter glue or any decorations of your choosing.
Silver magnetic snap button size 14mm, with thread to match the color of the purse and the inside color of the heart seal on the back. Also, a hand sewing needle to sew the snap to the purse.

Sizing Information:
The love letter purse is 8.75” wide and 6.25” tall. There is 8”x6” actual purse space and the straps make the whole thing measure approximately 28.5”.
