This is a crocheted slouchy style hat. A simple construction for an advanced beginner and a stitch pattern that gives the hat a nice texture, almost a faux-cable.

Pattern uses a 5.5mm (I) hook. The yarn that has a wraps per inch (wpi) of 16-17, so it could include worsted/4 weight yarn of superwash wool, or DK. You will need about 300 yards.

Pictured uses Nerds With Needles 100% superwash wool worsted in Gobstopper (blue/purple), 198g/365yds. Sage hat: Knitting for Olive, heavy merino worsted weight in Dusky Artichoke, total used: 100 g / 150 m. Purple hat: Bernat Baby Soft.
