Lovebird Bookmark
The Lovebird Bookmark will lend a gentle touch to your favorite books and be a fun addition to your scrapbook. It also makes a great gift for your valentine. This small motif can also make a beautiful applique for your garments or blankets.
The pattern includes three methods for making the bird’s eye, which can be found in the “Head” section, including tips and introductions for adding beads to your crochet stitches. Also, this pattern introduces steps to make a crocheted cord in the “Bookmark strings” section.
Once you get familiar with the pattern, this lovebird will be quick to work up. There is also room for customization: beyond having embroidery and beading options for the eye, you can also experiment with color combinations for the lovebird. I hope you will have fun making this Lovebird Bookmark.

Tools:
- Crochet hook: Depends on the yarn weight; try to use a smaller size hook than recommended on the yarn label. (A 3.5 mm crochet hook was used to make the project in the guiding images.)
- Yarn needle: make sure the yarn can go through the eye, and the needle can go through the stitches

The size depends on the yarn weight and the crochet hook size. As a reference, using the recommended materials, the bird will be approximately 3.5 inches tall, not including the bookmark strings.
