These six patterns were inspired by the timeless look of knitted lace. All the dresses are worked flat and seamed at the end. There is no additional fastening required, each dress is designed to be stretchy enough to slip on. These quick projects are suitable for beginners and using up small bits of leftover yarn.

Size: All the variations will fit a standard fashion doll.

Materials: DK, Sock or fingering weight yarn, ~50 yds for each dress; U.S. #2.5 straight needles; U.S. #4 straight needles; yarn needle or small crochet hook

While gauge is important to making sure the dress fits the doll, it is easy to measure against the doll as you knit, and make adjustments as you go. These dresses are pretty quick and easy to make, so mistakes in fit or gauge aren’t going to cost you hours of work either. Self striping or variegated yarns are what give the interesting color patterns in the models, and these little projects are great for stash busting old sock yarn. With only minor adjustments any of these skirts and tops can be mixed and matched for a unique look.
