As a counterpoint to 2021’s vibrant Highlights Wrap, my 2022 advent design, the Lowlights Wrap, features the gently subdued tones of Marianated Yarns’ Kaleidoscope Dusk color set. The softer hues bring to mind the quiet pleasures of the past year— conversations with an old friend, a dog snoozing cozily by my side, the perfect mug of tea. A single beautiful lace pattern is repeated throughout the wrap for a thoughtful and meditative knitting experience.

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:
Marianated Yarns Lynnette Minis, 24-color set — 75% superwash merino / 25% nylon — 1,104 yds (1009 m) to 240 g in total — approx. 46 yds (42 m) in each mini. Shown in colorway Kaleidoscope Dusk. Sample used approximately 9 g or 42 yds (38 m) of each 10 g Contrast Color (CC) mini.

Marianated Yarns Practicality 75/25, one solid skein for Main Color (MC)— 75% superwash merino / 25% nylon — 463 yds (423 m) to 100 g. Shown in colorway Bayou. Sample used approximately 85 g or 394 yds (360 m) of skein.

All yardages include a 10% cushion for gauge differences.

Sizing:
86” (218 cm) long and 20” (51 cm) wide.

Blocked Gauge:
24 sts and 27 rows to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st, and 24 sts and 26 rows to 4” (10 cm) in Ripple Lace.

Needles:
US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle (or size that gives gauge), 24” (60 cm) or 32” (80 cm) length.

PLEASE NOTE: I knit the sample with a US 6 (4 mm) needle, but as I tend to knit on the tighter side, I’ve listed a needle one size smaller. Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used. To meet these dimensions and to ensure enough yarn, please use needle size that gives gauge.

Other Materials:
10 stitch markers, tapestry needle.
