L’s Braided Hat and Headband are compliments to my L’s Braided Cowl pattern, which is also available on Ravelry. The hat and headband use the same exciting knitting techniques used for the cowl…Lateral braids, Latvian braids, Russian grafting, etc. These may sound challenging, but they are very easy to learn. The pattern is complete with extensive instruction for all these techniques. It is written row by row and guides you from cast on to finishing.

If you want to make the pattern larger, you don’t have to worry about a multiple. Just add 4 stitches for each additional inch. Smaller; subtract 4 stitches per inch. But I think the pattern will fit most heads perfectly as written.

Both the hat and headband are reversible. It’s like having 2 hats in one, 2 headbands in one. The double thickness gives you a very warm and toasty head piece. Perfect for the winter of 2015!!!

200 ~ 250 yards of each color should be enough to make one hat and/or one headband.
