Knitting pattern for Lucia slipover vest by Önling

Lucia vest is designed by Katrine Hannibal and is a trendy slipover vest, which is perfect for a cold day. The vest is designed with decorative, wide rib edges and trendy details. Knit in 1 strand Önling No 3, our heavy merino wool, held together with 1 strand of silk mohair. Resulting in a chunky vest with the opportunity to create a nice mouliné effect. It can also be knitted in 1 strand Önling No 1, our merino wool and angora blend, held together with 1 strand silk mohair, resulting in a luxurious soft vest.

Lucia Vest is part of Önling’s Easy Peasy knitting patterns. It means, that the pattern is written without abbreviations and difficult techniques. It is our ambition that you should learn some new techniques and fill your ‘knitting tool box’ with exciting new tools.

Recommended needles:
Circular needles size 6 and 7 mm / US 10 and 10.75, 80 cm / 32 inches long
Stitch markers
2 meter / 3 yards of scrap yarn.

Gauge: 17 sts and 20 rows/rounds of stockinette on needle size 7 mm / US 10.75 = 10x10 cm / 4x4 inches.

Procedure:
The vest is worked in the round from the bottom up. First, a provisional crochet cast-on is made, and the vest is worked in the round to the armhole. Here the stitches are divided into front and back panels which are finished individually. At this point you can try on the vest and decide how long you want the rib hems before knitting them.
