Luciano The Owl
You can find the pattern for Luciano The Owl on my website for free! I made this pattern for a friend a gift during her Harry Potter bachelor party.
The pattern itself is easy, but it requires a lot of sewing. I hope you enjoy making it as I enjoyed writing it!
I used three colors: brown, gold and yellow. I used two strands of yarn for the brown, so make sure you have at least two skeins, preferably 3-4 even. For the eyes, I used black scrap yarn to embroider the face. The yarn I used:
• brown: Amigo XL from Hobbii – color A06
• yellow: Amigo XL from Hobbii – color A36
• gold: Techno from Veritas
Don’t have a Veritas near you? You could use Amigo (regular) color A05, but it doesn’t have the same golden effect.
Everything is worked in continious rounds except for the tummy and the tail. The face is embroidered so I don’t use safety eyes. The doll is not suitable for children under three because of the use of acrylic yarn. The finished size of the doll is 25 cm or 9,8 inches.
Because the head, body and tail are one piece, make sure you sew the eyes on at the end, so the tail is correctly positioned. You want the tail on the back. It’s difficult to know where the tail will be during the process of crocheting the body. So wait to make them untill the end!
The lid makes sure the doll can stand on its own! It’s a small circle that’s sewed on the bottom.
Have fun!
