This sweater was designed and made for Lucy, a spunky overgrown miniature dachshund (AKA, a total ham) owned by my sister-in-law-to-be. Lucy loves sweaters, and having never knit a dog sweater I wanted to take the opportunity to make her one with my ever-growing stash of sock yarn scraps.

As Lucy is a bit large for a mini, I wanted to design this pattern with a lot of stretch so it would be able fit most miniature dachshunds (thus the mock-cable stitch, which has the look of a cable while retaining most of the stretch of a rib).
