Lucky Horseshoes Shawl
Horseshoe lace is one of my favorite lace motifs. This shawl began as a Christmas gift for a coworker made out of a single skein of String Theory Bluestocking I picked up on vacation in Maine. It turned out so beautifully that I had to make myself one and wrote up the pattern. It uses Elizabeth Zimmerman’s pi shaping to make a “half-pi” shape with the horseshoes cascading into a pointed edging. It takes only one skein of sock yarn but makes a very nice-sized shawl. Make one as a special gift or make one as a gift to yourself!
