Lucky Penny Shamrock Charm
Make your own lucky penny holder by crocheting the clover. May 23 is lucky penny day in the US and of course March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day. This clover is perfect for both holidays and all year long.
Put a penny in it with your birth year, wedding year, or other speacial year. These would be cute to make as gifts at a wedding or just the shower. Think how cute they’d be to give out at a baby shower or birthday party. Make them for firends and family who you’d like to wish good luck.
This pattern is meant to be printed book style so I included a page on how to print it. There are 12 pages to print with a LOT of photos. There’s are even directions on cleaning your coin. Make it to hang or wear as a pin.
Use threads like DMC, and Lizbeth. You’ll need metal crochet hooks sizes 8, 9, & 10. It will depend on which size thread you use. You need to know basic crocheting. The stitches include: slip stitch; chain; single, double, treble crochet stitches; magic circle ( also called magic ring and magic loop). I give directions for the magic circle but not the other stitches.
In the photo you can see I made one shamrock into a key ring but you can just add crochet chain, cord, or ribbon so it can hang. The smaller shamrock has a pin on the back so it can be worn.
