Here’s a knitted shamrock, which is home decoration, toy, and home remedy all in one, because it is cute and it can be used as a hot-and-cold pack!

The finished shamrock/clover will be about 6x6x2 inches (15x15x2.5 cm) in worsted weight yarn. The yarn should be microwaveable and washable, if it’s to be used as home remedy. I recommend to fill it with dry beans, but lentils or corn work as well. You may also be able to use a small hot-and-cold gel pack.

This is a pattern suitable for ambitious beginners. It will take about 3 hours to make on average.

You need to be comfortable using double pointed needles, but the toy doesn’t have to be knit in the round - there is also an option to knit flat. Even the in-the-round version requires seaming though. Otherwise the making of this toy requires knitting skills like knit, purl, increase, decrease, and embroidery. An I-cord and crocheting is optional.
