This is a slightly oversized cardigan, knitted in the Seed Stitch Pattern. (K1, p1, throughout the whole pattern)
The sweater is knitted from bottom up. It can be knitted in Organic Cotton or Baby Alpaca Wool, any DK weight yarn Weight can be used. Please knit a test swatch for the correct gauge. It has 5 panels that will be sewn together with the blanket stitch. To finish the sweater you will pick up stitches at the neck line to knit the collar. There will also be 5 buttons (size 1/2 inch, 12 mm or 5/8 inch, 16 mm for bigger sizes) to be sewn on to left front panel. Each pattern size has its customized pattern parts (on graph paper) to fit its front, back and sleeve panels.
Size: 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) years old
Chest: 64 (68) 72 (76) cm
Hight: 32 (34) 36 (38) cm
Sleeve length: 36 (39) 43 (45) cm
Needles: 1 pair of 3.5 mm (US4) strait single pointed needles. One tapestry needle bent point and a measuring tape in centimeters. 5 buttons (size 5/8 inch, 18 mm)
Gauge: 21 st x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm on a 3.5 mm needle in Seed Stitch pattern.
I have knitted it in 100% Baby Alpaca and 100% Organic Cotton, any DK Weight yarn will work.
