Ludlow
Ludlow is part of the collection Neighborhood Knits: Shawls, four shawls inspired by Philadelphia neighborhoods.
Plush garter stitch and simple stripes edged with a bold splash of ribbed color make up the Ludlow shawl. The triangular shawl is worked from the point to the base, and the ribbed edging is picked up and worked last.
The finished measurements are a wingspan of approximately 55” and a center back length of approximately 27”.
Fingering weight yarn in three colors is used. You will need 205 yards of color A; 340 yards of color B; 105 yards of color C, and a US 5 (3.75mm) 32” circular needle.
The photo sample is worked in Tosh Merino Light in Antler (A), Onyx (B), and Candlewick (C).
This is a good project for the Advanced Beginner:
Skills needed are: knit and purl (just in the edging); how to knit in the front and back of a stitch (only a couple of times); how to work a yarn over; and how to pick up and knit stitches.
