This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms, for Lumi the arctic fox.

Lumi is utterly soft and cuddly. He makes a perfect baby gift or cool doll just for yourself.

Size
Sitting: 5.5 inch/ 14 cm.

Materials needed
You’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. Two colours of yarn, white (3/4 of a 100 yard skein) and beige (a leftover will do). The quantities are estimates. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes and I have needle-felted a nose. An animal safety nose or embroidered one will work too. You also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads), and a pipe cleaner in the tail is optional. Lopi colour numbers: 0051and 0086.

Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
