Luna Sweater & Cardigan

The Luna Sweater & Cardigan is a sweet, versatile piece designed for children from newborns to 10 years. This pattern features a delicate and easy lace motif accented with optional shiny beads and a charming collar, adding a hint of elegance to any child’s outfit.

With its dual styling options, it can be worn as a cardigan tied at the front or as a sweater tied at the back. Customize the neckline with either ribbing or an I-cord, giving you flexibility in the final look.

Belle Bow shown on second image is also available on my patterns in ravelry.

Yarn & Bead Suggestions

Select a soft fingering-weight yarn that holds lace detailing well. Complementary bead colors will add a delightful, subtle shimmer to the lacework.

Construction

The Luna Sweater & Cardigan is knit from the bottom up, starting with the body, which is worked up to the armholes. Sleeves are knit separately in the round and then joined to the body, where the yoke is finished in a raglan style up to the neckline. The collar flaps are added last for a polished finish.

This pattern is designed with a longer body and slightly oversized sleeves that can be rolled up, allowing extra wear as children grow.

It needs experience with lace knitting. Requires the ability to follow up a lace pattern with decreases for the raglan.

A Cozy and Charming Addition

The Luna Sweater & Cardigan is perfect for knitters looking for a project with beautiful details and flexibility. It will quickly become a cherished piece in any child’s wardrobe.
