Size of crocheted Luna Moth using specified materials below is approximately 5 inches (body length) by 14 inches (wings spread)

Materials:

  • Yarn - I used Gazzal Baby Cotton (50g, 165 m) #3466 (2 skeins of light green for wings), #3442 (burgundy), #3437 (milky white), #3425 (very light green for embroidery veins on wings (optional), # 3447 (mustard for antennae), yellow, pale yellow (for nose), YarnArt Mink #330 (milky white)
  • Hook 1.75 mm (I always use smaller hook than yarn manufacturer suggests, to avoid gaps in work)
  • Pins
  • Fiberfill
  • Stitch marker
  • Safety eyes (I used 18 mm diameter but you can use bigger or smaller eyes)
  • Wire for wings (optionally) - 2 pcs about 7 inches (17- 18cm) long each
  • Textile (acrylic) marker - yellow, or white or light green (also optional) - for drawing the veins on wings instead of embroidering them Tapestry needle
