INTRODUCTION: This pattern includes instructions for two different decoration designs for Lunar New Year decorations using the Chinese character, 福 (‘fuk’ in Cantonese, ‘fu’ in Mandarin), meaning good fortune, good luck, and prosperity, in two-color stranded colorwork worked flat. I thought it would be fun to use my favorite creative medium, knitting, to pay homage to my favorite holiday from my culture. Enjoy this project! Make it your own! If you are celebrating Lunar New Year, remember to please honor and respect the holiday and Chinese culture with appreciation and not appropriation.
