Since I have a real liking for nature’s most peculiar, weird, mysterious or misunderstood underdogs I decided to design some of them for anyone who wants to get to know these natural weirdo’s a little better!

Lizards are a very versatile group of animals, ranging in size from itsy-bitsy chameleons and teeny-weeny geckos to the colossal Komodo dragon.
They possess some cool and curious characteristics:
the collared lizard can run on its’ two back legs, and surprisingly speedy too: up to 24 km/h. It is quite the stand-up chameleon! Green anoles can change their coloring: they put on their green pyjamas at night before going to sleep and don their brown suits when they wake up! And they can throw off their tails if captured by predators, to make an expeditious escape!

There are two lizards included in this pattern: the green anole and the common collared lizard. Each lizard is a small project, done in scraps of yarn, and can be finished in an evening or two. They are a medium knit, made on 2.00 mm double pointed needles (US 0, UK 14), but can be knitted on thicker needles and in heavier yarn and will then turn out larger.
There is some knitting flat and in the round, intarsia color work, i-cords and short rows. The features are emboidered on. All is explained comprehensively in the text and illustrated by schematics.

So, let’s geck-going and knit some lovely liz-art!
