Luumu is a slouchy hat with beautiful and eye-catching cabled texture. It is made seamlessly in the round, from bottom to top.
Luumu means a plum in Finnish.
The pattern includes both, charts and written instructions.

Sizes
( S, L )
S – small adult: to fit 54 cm / 21.5” head circumference.
L – large adult: to fit 58 cm / 23.25” head circumference.
Length (from CO to top): ( 23.5, 25 ) cm / ( 10) ”
Note: Different sizes of the hat are achieved by using yarn in different weights or by using different gauges. To make a hat in size S you can use thinner worsted weight yarn as well as thicker aran weight yarn knitted with tighter gauge on smaller needles. To make a hat in size L you can use thicker aran weight yarn as well as thinner worsted weight yarn knitted with looser gauge on bigger needles. It is all about how dense fabric you prefer.

Yarn
For a hat you’ll need about 160m / 175y of any worsted or aran weight yarn.
Sample hat was knit in size L using Woollala Merino Aran ( 100% Wool-Merino; 190m / 208y per 115g), “Deep purple” colorway.
Note that the yardage is estimated.

Needles
4.5 mm (US #7) circular and dpns needles, or size needed to get the right gauge;
3.75 mm (US #5) circular and dpns needles, or two sizes smaller than the gauge needles.

Additional materials
1 stitch marker, row counter, cable needle, tapestry needle for weaving ends.

Gauge
24 sts = 10 cm / 4 “ - in twisted 1x1 rib pattern worked with 3.75mm needles, unstretched, after wet blocking.
The gauge in height will vary depending on yarn weight you use.

Size S: 21 sts and 28 rounds = 10x10 cm / 4x4 “ - in texture pattern from chart B knit with 4.5 mm (US #7) needles and worsted weight yarn, unstretched, after wet blocking.
Size L: 20 sts and 27 rounds = 10x10 cm / 4x4 “ - in texture pattern from chart B knit with 4.5 mm (US #7) needles and aran weight yarn, unstretched, after wet blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get given gauge, especially when using yarn weight different than suggested above.

Na czapkę będziesz potrzebować około 160m dowolnej włóczki typu worsted lub aran.

Materiały dodatkowe
1 marker do oczek, licznik rzędów, drut pomocniczy, igła dziewiarska do chowania nitek.

Próbka
24 sts na 10 cm – ściągaczem z oczek przekręconych 1x1 rib na drutach 3.75mm, nierozciągnięte, po blokowaniu na mokro. Próbka na wysokość będzie się różnić ze względu na rożne grubości zastosowanych włóczek.
