This project was born of the love of my family’s Scandinavian heritage and my son’s request for a moose or reindeer hat. My maternal grandfather’s name was also Lyle, and he would heartily approve of this hat.

The hat and mittens are knit in the traditional Selbuvotter manner. Hold the contrasting color in your left hand to accentuate the stitches.

The reindeer motif is adapted from Selbu Mittens by Anne Bardsgard.
