Please note that the paid PDF is a print-friendly, ad-free, US version of the pattern. It does not contain all of the photos from the photo tutorial (or any of the charts for the short rows). These are freely available in the extensive photo tutorial on my website, though.
This blanket is a vintage celebration of colour and friendship.
Each motif consists of a colourful octagon squared up with a simple main colour. These squares are then joined with a diagonal (sc, ch 1, skip 1) join.
The petals on the flowers are created using short rows and the octagons are squared up using a different type of short rows.
The slow colour-change in the yarn means that each flower is unique, and placement during the layout of the blanket is, therefore, a wholly personal affair.
Although this blanket uses very simple stitches, this pattern offers a fair few learning opportunities.
I hope you enjoy every moment!
