I originally knit these booties for my nephew using Cedar House Yarns Irish Yearling Dk and silk mohair. When I tested the pattern I used Plymouth Yarn Worsted Superwash Merino. Either a dk or light worsted yarn will work for this pattern. It is a great stash diver since it uses so little yarn. Also, I found the lace pattern was more pronounced using a solid color yarn. The sole of the booties is worked flat. After picking up stitches the rest of the booties is worked in the round.
