These cozy, stretchy fingerless mitts are constructed of 3 cables, a wide center cable flanked by two skinny cables. This pattern is designed as a companion to the Lynne Marie Cabled Cowl and Hat, and is also an homage to my lovely mother.

If this is your first time trying crochet cables, do not fear! There is a photo tutorial with 26 photos to walk you through, so you’ll be cabling comfortably in no time!

Gauge and dimensions are calculated using Caron Simply Soft, which is on the thin side of worsted. If using a thicker yarn, consider changing hooks to meet gauge, or following the instructions on page 14 for modifying size. Your yarn choice will make a big difference in both size and stretch with this pattern, so I suggest using a soft, drapey yarn on the thinner side of worsted-weight. Be sure to try on the wristband to make sure it stretches to a comfortable fit before moving on to the body of the mitts, and resize if needed.

Gauge should be obtained with dc stitches before starting the pattern. If needed, resize using the included instructions or change hook size to obtain gauge.

This pattern was tested to ensure accuracy.
