Lyra Beret
This beret is worked from the bottom up, starting with a folded hem, followed by increases to shape the body. After completing the body, decreases are worked to gradually shape the top. The beret is finished with a small i-cord stem for a classic touch.
Sizes
- S/M: 54-56 cm / 21¼-22 in
- M/L: 57-59 cm / 22½-23¼ in
- L/XL: 60-62 cm / 23⅝-24⅜ in
Yarn
Amount required: 100 g for all sizes
Original yarn: Merino 100%, 150 m 164 yards in 50 g
Needles
- 3 mm US 2.5 circular needles
- 3.5 mm US 4 circular needles
- Secondary 3 mm circular needle for folding edge (or a similar small size)
- Optional: 3.5 mm US 4 double-pointed needles or a circular needle for Magic Loop to finish the top and work the i-cord
Additional materials
Stitch markers.
Gauge
30 stitches × 38 rows = 10 × 10 cm 4 × 4 inches in stockinette on 3.5 mm US4 needles after washing and blocking.
