A simple scarf, this design uses cables to define the border. Rather then the normal rectangular shape of a scarf, this scarf is a parrellogram for something a little bit different. The body is simple in design, stockinette with garter ridges forming vertical stripes like the gaps between the boards that form a garden gate.

The shallow width allows the body to be wrapped around the shoulders and neck, while the length gives it a scarf like appearance. It is a simple pattern to alter as required. If you wish a deeper width, add additional increases and mirror with the decreases. If you wish it longer, add additional repeat the pattern across the centre. This will affect yarn yardage.

The pattern as written requires approximately 800m for the small size and 1100m for the large size in fingering yarn.
