Ma Belle Socks
I consider myself blessed beyond measure to have a wonderful, kind and talented sister who is beautiful both inside and out. Though we live far apart, we are close in heart and this sock design was inspired by her.
This pattern is knit cuff down with a pretty (yet very simple!) design that scallops beautifully and creates a unique and lovely cuff feature. The rest of the sock is knit in a simple textured stitch pattern.
This pattern is written in one size (Adult Medium) with written instructions for the cuff. Since the cuff has no ribbing, the fit may be slightly looser than traditional cuffed socks.
The pattern is written for dpns and with a traditional heel flap and gusset, but is easily adaptable for magic loop or circular needles and you can substitute any heel you like.
I knit these socks as ankle socks, but you can choose to knit a longer leg to your preference.
Depending on the length of leg you knit, this pattern calls for approx 270 -300 yards of fingering weight yarn.
Blocking these socks upon completion is essential to bring out the lace and scalloped edge.
Whether you knit these socks for yourself, or perhaps for your own sister, I hope they will bring and the recipient as much joy as they have to me.
