This shawl pattern is named Ma Cherie. I am enjoying knitting and wearing this shawl so much, that I named it Ma Cherie. Ma Cherie is French for “my cherished one.”

Ma Cherie, is an original pattern of mine. It is worked from the top down to the bottom edge. There is a special bind off technique used for the ruffle/picot look.

It is a great project for a beginning lace knitter, because it gives you the idea of what lace is all about and it is quick.

The pattern uses size US 19 (15 mm) knitting needles and 150(220) yards of bulky weight yarn. As of July 14, 2012, there is now a longer size added to the pattern. Meaning, that the pattern you are purchasing comes with the original short size and a longer size.

The pattern is written out, there are no charts. The design is so easy that charts are not needed.

I have also used worsted weight yarn to knit this shawl and it is more lacey and has even more drape. The red one pictured is made from bulky weight yarn.
