Mabon Beginnings
Mabon Beginnings is a simple, yet elegant, shawl that you work side-to-side from the cast on to the bind off edge. The increases & decreases will result in a slightly off-center triangle shape with lots of drape. The garter stitch rows are relaxing interludes that are great for working on while enjoying a cool morning breeze. The lace sections are interesting without being difficult and add a bit of flair to your project.
Any yarn will work with this as long as your gauge (yarn/needle combination) creates a fabric that will lay nicely across your shoulders. This pattern will work well with most gradients, solids, or semisolid colors. The Blossom and Ocean samples were knit with Cauldron’s Path Yarns Sunrises (475yds per 100gms) in multiple colors that were in my stash. The Rainbow sample was knit with a variety of fingering weight yarns.
