Macadam Cowl
Macadam Cowl is knit in a very simple but spectacular 2-coloured textured stitch pattern which uses only 1 colour per round. The cowl is worked in the round. Knit it as given in the pattern for a long loop which can be worn loose or wrapped twice around your neck, or cast on fewer stitches for a single loop, the pattern is very easy to modify.
Gauge
23 sts and 55 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Macadam 2-colour Stitch Pattern knit in the round with the larger needle after blocking
Base gauge: 24 sts and 32 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch knit in the round with the larger needle after blocking
Obtaining the correct gauge is not crucial, but any differences will affect the size of the finished cowl.

112 cm / 44” circumference, 20 cm / 8” height.
Yarn
Approximately 275 m/300 y of MC and 203 m/222 y of CC.
Sample made with MadelineTosh Tosh Merino Light (100% Merino, 384 m /420 y per skein) in colourway Oxblood as MC and Neon Peach as CC.
Needles
· 80 cm/32” circular needle in each of the following sizes: 3.5 mm/ US 4 and 3.0 mm/ US 2½ (or size to obtain gauge)

Necessary skills: Knitting in the round, knitting with dpns or magic loop.
