Machair
Wildflowers of the Scottish highlands furnish the inspiration for this pretty, lightweight scarf or stole in multiple sizes (small scarf/large scarf/stole). Worked from center back to hem using a provisional cast on to begin, the simple floral stitch patterns replicate an awakening springtime landscape, ending with a deeply scalloped hemline. The stitchwork is repetitive and easily memorized, making this a wonderful project for new lace knitters. Choose a relaxed, longwool yarn that will block well to shape the dramatic patterning.
