Machine Knit Circular Socks

These instructions are for circular socks with a fair isle band at the ankle made out of Patons Kroy 3ply yarn which has 85% wool and 15% nylon in it. Each ball weighs 1 3/4 ozs (50 grams) and hand knits to a tension of 32 sts to 4 inches (10 cm) on 3 1/4 mm (U.S.3) needles. These socks were knit on a Silver Reed SK 580 electronic but can be made on any standard gauge machine with a ribber.
