Mack Zero
Heinz Mack is an artist best known for constantly experimented with light and movement using different materials like oscillating light-reliefs, monumental light-stelae, kinetically working rotors, and light reflecting cubes. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to op art, light art and kinetic art as well as co-founding the ZERO movement in 1957. ZERO, known as ground zero from which new design principles and aesthetic ideas were to be developed, characterized their zeitgeist. ZERO became one of the most important international avant-garde movements post-World War II.
This simple scarf is reminiscent of some of Mack’s light artwork. The brioche stitch with the staggered, alternating layers of three colors makes it appear deceptively complex. In truth, it’s a brioche beginner’s project with high impact results.
This pattern has been tech edited but not test knit beyond the sample shown.
