Techniques used: Italian two colour cast on, double knitting, corrugated ribbing, two colour knitting with cables and weird increases, slipped sts, Vikkel braid, short row heel with mini gusset, toe without kitchener stitch. Cake with cake on. Never a dull moment. Except when you hit the foot, then you will be happy you picked a pretty yarn.

Difficulty level: MAD (or insane, pick one).

Sizes: Small (Medium) Large (X-large).

All sizes are cast on the same way, with 76 sts. If you need more than 76 sts around the leg, I recommend using heavier weight yarn and/or larger needles. The cables are accounted for with increases within the pattern, they will not affect the size, but your colourwork might.

To be worn with some negative ease, according to wearer’s preferences.

Small will end with 64 around leg and 60 sts around foot. Approximately 18.75 cm (7 ½ inches).
Medium will end with 68 sts around leg and 64 sts around foot. Approximately 20 cm (8 inches).
Large will end with 72 sts around leg and 68 sts around foot. Approximately 21.25 cm (8 ½ inches).
X-Large will end with 76 sts around leg and 72 sts around foot. Approximately 22.5 cm (9 inches).

Gauge: 36 sts and 44 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in stockinette stitch using smallest size needles. 32 sts = 10 cm (4 inches) in colourwork pattern on largest size needles.

Needles: The pattern is written/charted for one long circular and magic loop (or two circulars), with front sts on one side and back sts on the other side, but you can use dpns too if you wish, just be prepared to do a bit more shuffling of stitches. Size 2.75 mm (US 2 ½), 2.5 mm (US 1 ½) and 2.25 mm (US 1) or sizes to get gauge.

Yarn: Pook Yarn SW BFL sock yarn 400 m/100 g. One Snowstorm set used. Contrast Colour (CC) 20 g. Main Colour (MC) 100 g. Use solids, semi-solids or a gradient sock set with a (semi-)solid mini. The colours also need to have a certain level of light/dark contrast.

Other tools needed: stitch markers, crochet hook size 2 mm (US 0-1) for small stuff (yes, it really is a very small detail and yes, a crochet hook is the smartest tool for it).
