Mad Scientist Socks
Mad Scientist Socks were created by Esther Wheeler for
The Hook and Needle Nook’s 12 Days of Christmas Yarn
boxes. It is a great pattern for beginning sock knitters. The
lace detail is delicate and simple enough for someone who
has not done lace before. The lace shows very well in a
lighting variegated yarn, but even better with a semi-solid
or solid colored yarn! Beautiful yet intuitive, the pattern is
extremely enjoyable to knit!
Materials: 100 grams Sock or fingering weight yarn. I recommend any yarn that is 75% Merino and
25% nylon and dyed to highlight lace details. Yarn used in samples: Boss Kitty Sock Yarn in the “As
You Wish” Colorway.
