Madame Mitra
I donate 25% of all pattern sales to animal rescue!
In Sanskrit, Mitra means “friend.” Interestingly, it’s made up of the root words, ‘mi’ (which means ‘destruction’) and ‘tra’ (meaning “protective force”). Translation: a friend who protects you from harm, guides you through the right path and brings you happiness. There are many different definitions, but they all share one common element: kindness and friendship.
I’ve named this shawl for a woman who fits that description and more—and happens to have Mitra for a middle name!
I fell in love with the sparkle sock yarn from Moss and Wand, she has several types of sparkle, and all of her yarn is soft and colorful! Thank you to Angie for an amazing collaboration! Check out her colorways here, she can dye you anything on sparkle to orde!
Pattern is written, final size is approx. 22” wide and 96” long tip-to-tip.
