Inspired by the quiet, gray charm of Madrid in the rain.

This design embraces a clean, modern style with subtle details that create a refined and effortless fit.

The pattern is written clearly and concisely. Helpful video links are included for any tricky sections.

Sleeve Cap (Optional)
The pattern includes an option for sleeve shaping. Drop shoulder styles don’t require it, but if you prefer a slightly more voluminous silhouette, adding short row shaping will create a sleeve cap.

Pockets
Deeper than typical knitwear pockets (about 15 cm / 6 in), these add both style and function.
For cropped lengths, the pockets may sit higher, sometimes just below the bust.
Since the body is worked in stockinette, the larger pocket looks visually pleasing, but if it sits too high, it may be less functional.
You can decide the final position as you knit the body, whether you want it to look nice or be more practical.

CONSTRUCTION
The jacket is worked top-down, starting from the back shoulders. Stitches are increased to shape the shoulders, and the back is knitted down to the underarm. Then, stitches are picked up from the shoulders to work the fronts. After shaping the neckline, the fronts are joined with the back at the underarm to work the body in one piece. Stitches are picked up along the neckline to knit the neckband, and along the front edges to work the button bands. The sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches around the armholes, and the pockets are made by picking up stitches from the body.
