Magda Christmas Table
Magdalena Christmas Table : Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern :
Hi, my name is Gaëlle and I’m a “stitch” addict: cross stitch, tapestry, knitting and now crochet!
I live in Paris and love vintage design, retro architecture and especially Art Deco and traditional embroidery from the North and Eastern Europe. These are a real source of inspiration for me.
Magda Christmas Table pattern was inspired by the lovely Polish embroidery you can find in all the country, especially in art table but also clothes.
Included in this pattern are full charts (size for app and printer) with the double crochet mark with an X and written pattern with the Row by Row written instructions if you prefer.
You will also find an introduction to mosaic crochet if you are not friendly with this technique yet and a link to my youtube video for the special stitches like the diagonal double crochet.
You can use any yarn/hook you want.
But for this king of project, I recommend using some fingering cotton like Drops Safran, Drops ♥ you 7, Hobbii 8/4 and a 2.5 or 3mm hook.
You will need at least two colors, 6 skeins for the background and 4 skeins for the design (+ 1 for the envelope border).
You will obtain a table runner of around 125cm per 45cm. You could make it shorter or longer by playing with the center part, adding some row or deleting the one spacing between the snowflakes.
A special and huge “Thank you” to my lovely tester who made some wonderful variation of this design, Karen Sykes, Marlena Cieciora-Szyda, L’atelier de Marie-Laure and Sally Channing !
